ASSISTANCE DOGS TRANSFORMING LIVES
Brytons Home Improvement and paws4people are joining forces to educate and empower people to use Assistance Dogs to transform lives.
paws4people was founded by Kyria Henry in 1999, when she was just 12 years old, with the purpose of using dogs as a means of helping people.
paws4people specializes in training and placing customized Assistance Dogs for two general groups: children and adolescents with physical, neurological, psychiatric, or emotional disabilities; and Veterans and Service Members with Chronic/Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Military Sexual Trauma, or physical disabilities.
It takes up to 2 years and $36,000 to train and place a paws4people-bred Assistance Dog with a client. The organization provides certification, insurance, and support for the client-dog team for the duration of their career. There is no cost associated with receiving a paws4people Assistance Dog. All clients participate in a Public Awareness Campaign to educate their communities about the role of their Assistance Dogs in their lives.
paws4people is headquartered in Wilmington, North Carolina and places Assistance Dogs with nationwide consideration.
Together, we will transform and save lives.
